My name is Ton Roeloffs, I was born in Leiden on 17 June 1970 but have been living in Koudekerk aan den Rijn since childhood, a South Holland village located near Leiden
After primary school I had a technical education (car mechanic) at the school community
Bospark Alphen aan den Rijn which I successfully finished.
After this education my technical interest was
definitely awakened and I started the MBO training Secondary company technician at the ROC in Rotterdam.
I
also successfully completed this course in 1995.
I have been working for many years with great pleasure as a car mechanic in my hometown of Koudekerk
a / d Rijn.
Outside of work I like to work on my oldtimer; an Opel Olympia from 1953 that I have special
memories of.
I am also a large collector of F1 model cars from all teams and drivers starting from the 90s
And currently i have many of them now.
For part of my free time I am also the chairman and contact person of VTC de Ridderhof;
a
leisure center / sport and recreation location in Koudekerk aan den Rijn.
Another - somewhat out of control - hobby is photography, and in particular F1
photography. Starting with a standard camera and lens, I discovered after the first time F1 photography that,
certainly when it comes to lens, this standard lens did not meet my wishes.
After trying out a lot of
lenses, I now shoot to my full satisfaction with a 600mm lens.
My first visit to a Grand Prix was in 1994; the GP of Portugal on the circuit of Estoril.
A
great experience and the start of many weekends to F1 races.
From that time I combine my holidays with a
visit to a GP and that can be international or intercontinental.
European, Italy, Spain and Belgium are
favorite, when I go overseas I find Canada and Singapore top countries.
Every year I visit the winter test in Spain and the GP of Belgium.
my photo highlight was at the Belgium GP 2010 where I was in the right place when Sebastian
Vettel crashes his Red Bull in the McLaren of Jenson Button.
